" Embargo isn’t laid on Georgian wine yet and I hope, that progress will be maintained" Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili said at the meeting with the representatives of tourism and agricultural sector in Kakheti region.

"Our government has already proved, that pragmatic policy might be implemented in the country. Territorial integrity is an important priority for us. I hope, that political environment will not have a negative impact on the export market. So far we face no embargo and I hope that progress will be maintained.

Both countries made a hard work and great efforts to achieve desired results that took long years. It is unacceptable to destroy everything. We have achieved outstanding results from the standpoint of promoting trade relations and I think, that, if we run a dialogue we will avoid embargo, besides,  a large part of our population asks us to run a negotiation with Russian side.

We support people living in the regions and rural areas, including our partners, farmers and peasants whose income is depended on trade relations. However, diversification is a bit different topic. Today we have gathered to discuss specific issues, although, we admit, that, it is important to maintain trade relations with the Russian Federation, including trade relations in agro-food or tourism sectors.

We have no embargo, nor tougher control over Georgian wine and situation will become less reactive and more stable, progress will be maintained in the country "said Levan Davitashvili.
