Export of Georgian wine increases in the Japanese market

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the President of Japanese alcoholic drinks consultation company ‘’ASIA AC’’,  Wataru Iwamoto. In cooperation with the Japanese company ‘’ASIA AC’’ Georgian side successfully implemented the project "Georgia - Wine Homeland" in Tokyo.
At the meeting, the sides discussed the prospect of exporting Georgian wine to the Japanese market.

"I would like to express my gratitude to the Japanese people for proper estimation of Georgian wine and point out, that popularization of Georgian wine, diversification of export market,  as well as worldwide scientific recognition of Georgia as the homeland of wine is very important for us. I hope that our cooperation will be further continued and become even more fruitful "said Levan Davitashvili.

According to Wataru Iwamoto, the project "Georgia-Wine Homeland" has significantly increased the demand for Georgian wine in the Japanese market, which outlines the export of Georgian wine to Japan as one of the most important items set in the agenda.

The representatives of the company ASIA AC will hold two days tour in Tbilisi and Kakheti region to get closer acquainted with Georgian wine.  Japanese guests will taste Georgian wine varieties to further export Georgian wine to Japan.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Khatia Tsilosani, Chairman of National Wine Agency Levan Mekhuzla, Deputy Head of National Wine Agency, Davit Tkemaladze and Executive Director of Association "Georgian Wine" Tina Kezeli attended the meeting.
