New student program to open in Bulachauri Green Center

In  cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and CENN, a new student program ""School of Green Economics " was opened in Bulachauri Green Center.

"The program aims to connect university resources with the ongoing governmental and international economic programs.

At the opening event of ‘’School of Green Economics ", the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili addressed the participants, students, university rectors, various guests and drew his attention to the current initiatives targeted at promotion of local economic development and small business as well as financing opportunities for students participating in the program.

The program includes 20 students from 6 universities of Georgia, selected through a competition. The students will undergo trainings and will be sent to the regions of Georgia to prepare family, private, municipal, or national models of use of forest resources. 

"The pilot projects will be funded within the program and will be implemented with the direct involvement of the students" Executive Director of CENN, Nana Janashia said.

The environmental information and education center, National Forest Agency and Universities signed a memorandum of multilateral cooperation with the CENN to support sustainable development goals and strategic goals for rural development and " School of Green Economics".

The project is initiated by the Project- Forest Sustainable Management for Rural Development , which is implemented by the financial support of the Austrian Development Cooperation Agency.
