More than 8000 tons of peaches and nectarine are exported from Georgia at present

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili visited the ‘’Kazbegi’’ Customs checkpoint in the Dariali Gorge and got acquainted with the export of peaches and nectarine .

"The export of peaches and nectarine runs smoothly from the customs check point. over 200 to 220 tons of peaches and nectarine are exported through check point per day.

With the involvement and support of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, harvesting, storing and selling runs in an  organized manner. Moreover, all nine refrigerated farms to operate at full capacity in Kakheti region is of utmost imprortance "said Solomon Pavliashvili.

In order to facilitate the export of peaches, all export documents will be prepared and issued under the single window principle in Gurjaani municipality. Representatives of phytosanitary and customs services are engaged in the process. After submitting documents at the customs check point, easily perishable product passes through all necessary procedures.

As of today, more than 8000 tons of peaches and nectarines are  exported from Georgia, 6000 tons from Kazbegi customs chech  point.

The  Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture was accompanied by Mamuka Jangulashvili, Head of Tax Revenue Service Department of Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance and head of ‘’Kazbegi ‘’customs checkpoint, Shota Skhiladze at the customs checkpoint.
