Levan Davitashvili met with Jerzy Plewa

Under the frame of the working visit, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia,  Levan Davitashvili met with the Director General of the Agriculture Directorate of the European Commission Jerzy Plewa. At the meeting, the Minister underlined the importance of the implementation of agricultural and rural development strategies and drew his attention to the significance of the program ENPARD (European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development).

"EU support in agricultural and rural development is very important for our country. We have a new strategy; We receive assistance from the European Union under the frame of the ENPARD. Therefore, the cooperation with the EU is very important for us and it should be continued in the future as well "- said Levan Davitashvili.

The Director General of the Agriculture Directorate of the European Commission expressed readiness for future cooperation. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, invited Mr. Plewa to Georgia to get familiar with the reforms implemented in the field of agriculture.

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili along with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Head of Mission of Georgia to the European Union, Natalie Sabanadze and First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze attended the meetings in Brussels.
