Support to the Georgian government for the elaboration of the 3rd National Environmental Action Programme (NEAP)

The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part is to support the Government of Georgia in its efforts to strengthen environmental governance and strategic environmental planning as stipulated in national legislation and foreseen by international commitments.

The specific objective of this contract is to support the MENRP of Georgia for developing a realistic and action-oriented strategic document focused on following principal objectives:
Integrate and optimize environmental policy in order to prevent further environmental degradation in Georgia;
Find solutions to common environmental problems through comprehensive strategic planning;
Address the environmental priorities of Georgia; 
Ensure the availability of information concerning the main environmental issues, main measures to be taken, required budget and responsible parties.
The principal beneficiary is the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia (MENPR). In addition, the assignment will target all relevant stakeholders involved in the environmental sector in  Georgia, including other governmental bodies, the civil society, donors, financial institutions and implementing agencies.
