Sustainable management of pastures in Georgia to demonstrate climate change mitigation and adaptation benefits and dividends for local communities

The Project objective is to rehabilitate 8,700 ha of degraded pastures (including
pastures in Vashlovani Protected Areas and adjacent alternative pastures) and
introduce/implement sustainable pasture management practices in the area
among the farmers/sheep-breeders in the Dedoplistskaro region. This is to be
achieved through activities conducted in pastures at different levels of
degradation within and surrounding the Vashlovani PAs, which include: a)
rehabilitation of pastures, b) introduction of sustainable land management
practices, c) improved sustainable livelihood of farmers.
