Study of hydraulic modelling against floods – 2nd stage - support to the competence and readiness of Georgian institutions” – 1st module

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Poland within Polish Development Cooperation Programme and is implemented by Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM).
  
The present project is continuation of project titled “Study of hydraulic modeling against floods – 1st stage – preparation to implementation of EU Directive No 2007/60EC” implemented by PCPM in Georgia in 2014-2015. 

The aim of the project is human and institutional capacity building of the LEPL National Environmental Agency in terms of hydraulic modelling, while objectives of the project are as follows: 
1. Affirmation of  independent work of NEA employees on 1D modelling - on the example of Aragvi and Kakheti rivers;
2. Study of MIKE complicated functions and 2D modelling – on Aragvi basin;
3. Advancing towards fulfilling modelling requirements of EU Flood Directive;
4. Improving understanding and competences on lidar data usage; 
5.  Equipping NEA with technical IT programs;
6. Improving NEA meteorological database and institutional resources (setting up NEA library)
