Study of hydraulic modelling against floods – 2nd stage - support to the competence and readiness of Georgian institutions – 2 nd module

The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Poland within Polish Development Cooperation Programme and is implemented by the Polish Center for International Aid (PCPM).

The first module of the project was implemented in June-December 2016. The aim of the project is human and institutional capacity building of the LEPL National Environmental Agency in terms of hydraulic modelling, while objectives of the project are as follows:

1. Improving quality of hydrological and geological data in NEA databases;

2. Improving NEA employees competence on data processing from lidar scanning;

3. Obtaining by selected NEA employees competence on 2D rivers modelling and related conclusions making;

4. Improving NEA employees skills on presenting results of their work in Georgia as well as abroad;

5. Raising awareness of local and state authorities, various stakeholders on flood risks related to Aragvi river on Zhinvali-Mtskheta section;

6. Enriching meteorological stations network in Georgia.
