National programme for rehabilitation of seed production system in Georgia (GCP/GEO/003/AUS)
To contribute to food security and poverty alleviation by increasing access of small-scale farmers to high quality seed of superior wheat varieties. It will also contribute to establishing the foundations for improving seed and planting material production, which will have a significant effect on food security, employment opportunities and income generation. The expected long-term impact of the project is the improved livelihoods of small-scale farmers in Gerogia through the use of high quality seed and seedlings and quality farming inputs. It will also strengthen the capacity of seed farms in maintenance breeding and early generation seed production.
