Green Grants Program
The Green Grant Program is supported by the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in cooperation with the European Neighborhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development (ENPARD) in collaboration with the Rural Development Agency (RDA).
The Green Grant Program for Energy Efficient and Renewable Energy Technologies aims to facilitate access to the introduction of energy efficient / renewable energy technologies for rural households and the existing business sector, to save energy costs, mitigate climate change mitigation and reduce natural resources (especially forest). As Georgia's current forest resources are still a major source of energy for the rural population, the Green Grant Program supports the development of energy efficiency and renewable energy (including markets) in the country. The program includes co-financing of the following energy efficient / renewable energy technologies: thermal insulation, factory-made vacuum-type water heater, simple solar-powered water heater and air heater.
