Governing for Growth (G4G) in Georgia
"G4G is USAID’s five-year 19.3 million US dollar project implemented by Deloitte Consulting LLC designed to support the Georgian government to create a better enabling environment in which legal and regulatory reforms are fairly and transparently conceived, implemented and enforced through consultative dialogue.
This project consists of five components:
1. Support inclusive public-private dialogue;
2. Strengthen Government capacity to develop, implement and enforce reforms;
3. Improve water resource management across multiple competing interests;
4. Improve governance of energy trading policy, including cross-border electricity trading;
5. Strengthen the capacity of private sector and civil society actors to advocate for reforms.
Result
The outcomes of the project are:
Outcome Targeted GOG institutions, and private sector and civil society actors use communication linkages developed within the G4G activity to facilitate improvements to the business enabling environment, water resource management and energy trading policy.
Outcome 2 Targeted GOG institutions apply improved capacity to develop, implement, and enforce reforms that improve the business enabling environment
Outcome 3 Water resource management plans that reflect the interest of the GOG, the private sector and civil society are implemented to ensure long-term sustainable use of Georgia’s freshwater resources
Outcome 4.1 An improved energy trading mechanism will enable hydropower producers and other electricity producers to participate, with confidence and predictability, in cross-border competitive electricity trading
Outcome 4.2 Hydropower producers obtain non-recourse financing to develop hydropower production in Georgia
Outcome 5 Targeted private sector and civil society actors apply improved capacity to engage the GOG on the development and implementation
