Trans Boundary Joint Secretariat for the southern Caucasus (TJS) (phase III)

TJS is one of the three components of the eco-regional nature protection program for the Southern Caucasus financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through German Development Bank (KfW).TJS provides support to the ministries of environment protection/ Agencies for Protected Areas management of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan to increase regional cooperation, sector development and harmonization in the field of nature conservation 

Result
TJS-III will work towards achieving the following five main outputs:
1. Sector Reports and continually sector analysis are provided to BMZ and German EC-Institutions by a sector-analyst.
2. A Participatory Approach to support the socio-economic development of adjacent communities of protected areas is further developed and promoted.
3. Protected Areas are promoted as destinations for eco-tourism and integrated into economically profitable tourism products.
4. ECP is updated, considering new sector-developments, experiences in different projects, as well as requirements of the civil society and of the Ministries of Environment of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
5.The Special Operational Fund (SOF) further developed, used and known as financial instrument for measures with transboundary objective or impact."
